Keith was born in 1954 in Swansea. After A-Levels he attended Swansea College of Art and Sheffield City Polytechnic (Art & Design) to study Fine Art and printing, i.e. from 1973 to 1977. As the director of ARTS SERVICES, Swansea he has a varied teaching commitment.

Artist's Statement:
"I am sometimes the last to know where an image finds its beginning or why it demands to be made real. Once you make a few marks the picture starts demanding of you - and because I am a figurative artist, once I draw a personality onto the canvas it will start talking back.

I see my visual artwork as in a way like poetry. The lines in a poem are linked in the same way that ideas, images & emotions come together on the canvas" (quoted from the South Wales Evening Post, 14.1.05)
